These semi-homemade melting snowman cookies are super easy to make using shortcut ingredients. They are adorable, and wonderful for any wintertime occasion.
Ingredients
1packagerefrigerated sugar cookie dough
2packetswhite cookie icing
12marshmallowscut in half
48mini M&Ms
24orange jimmies sprinkles
1tubeblack writing gel or an edible black marker
Instructions
Bake the sugar cookies according to the package directions, and allow them to completely cool before decorating.
Frost each cookie with white cookie icing. Don't worry about being too perfect, the frosting should look like a melted snowman, so it does not need to be 100% round. You can even let it drip off the side a bit.
While the frosting is still wet, place 1/2 marshmallow cut side down on the top part of the cookie to create the head. Then place two mini M&Ms on the frosting to create the buttons.
Once the frosting has dried, draw arms, eyes, and a mouth using black writing gel or an edible marker. Gently push an orange sprinkle into the marshmallow to create the nose.
Notes
The nutrition facts for this recipe will be based on the nutrition facts of the cookie dough and icing you use.
If you find it difficult to get the orange sprinkle to stick into the marshmallow, use a toothpick to create a hole first.
