An irresistibly rich and creamy frosting, perfect for topping sugar cookies. This frosting is easy to make, ready in 10 minutes, and does not require milk or heavy cream.
Place softened butter and cream cheese in a large bowl.
Using a hand mixer or stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, beat until creamy.
Decrease speed to low, gradually add powdered sugar, half a cup at a time. Ensure each addition is fully incorporated before adding the next.
Once the sugar is fully mixed in, add vanilla extract and salt and beat again.
Increase mixer speed to high and beat for 3 minutes, until frosting is fluffy and spreadable.
Notes
Butter and cream cheese must be at room temperature for optimal blending.
Store frosting in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Soften at room temperature and give it a quick beat before use.
This recipe can be easily scaled up or down, depending on your needs.
