Christmas Tree Pretzels made with candy melts, pretzels, and sprinkles are one of the easiest treats to make! These are so fun to make with kids!
Equipment
Pipping bags
Wax paper
Ingredients
8mini pretzel sticks
1cupgreen candy melts
Sprinkles
Instructions
Start by melting the candy melts according to the package instructions. I like to use the microwave, and melt in a microwave safe glass bowl. If you overheat the candy melts, they will harden and become chalky. So make sure that you don't overheat them.
Fill a disposable pipping bag with melted candy melts, and cut off the tip with kitchen shears or craft scissors.
Lay a sheet of wax paper on a flat surface, then place pretzel sticks and pipe out candy melts back and forth making it wider as you go to create Christmas tree shapes. Decorate with sprinkles immediately as the candy melts harden very quickly.
Repeat for the remaining pretzel sticks and candy melts, then transfer to the fridge for 5-10 minutes to speed up the hardening process. Once set, remove from the fridge and store at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks.
Notes
If you happen to overheat the candy melts, you can save the situation by adding a small amount of coconut oil or melted butter and mixing well.
Rather not use candy melts? You can make Christmas Trees Pretzels with melted chocolate instead. Either melt some white chocolate and add Christmas food coloring to get green Christmas Tree Pretzels, or melt some dark chocolate and leave them as they are for Christmas Tree Pretzels in brown.
